Hi, I was searching wicker repair and your business came up. I have my grandmothers wooden rocking chair that’s got a wicker seat and need it repaired, how would I go about that? Also I have her vintage wash table and would like that restored, would you be able to do that as well? How much would it cost?

Hi Julie. It doesn’t matter how bad the damage is, you have to replace all of the cane in either case.
If it is hand woven single strand cane, you would count the holes around the edge of the seat where the cane is woven through the seat. then multiply that by $2. per hole. plus $15 if if needs to be tinted to match the old color.
If it is pre-woven sheet cane, you measure diaganally across the seat, and multiply the inches by $4.50 plus the tinting charge.

Hi,
We have a rocking chair with a caned seat that is in worse condition than the one in you before photo, but the pattern looks exactly the same. The dimensions of the seat are ~ 18″ X17″ although it is not exactly square. Could you give me an estimate or a range of cost to have the seat recaned? Thank you,
